Alicja Kieruzalska

Solo bassoon of the NFM Wrocław Philharmonic and also a founder and member of the LutosAir Quintet, one the resident ensembles of the National Forum of Music.

Born in Toronto, she is a graduate of the Staatliche Hochschule für Musik und Darstellende Kunst Stuttgart and the University of Music. F. Chopin in Warsaw. In 2011, she also completed post-graduate studies in Stuttgart with honors.

She was a scholarship holder of the Minister of Culture, the National Children’s Fund, DAAD and the Villa Musica chamber music foundation (Germany). She has participated in many masterclasses. As a chamber and orchestra musician, she has performed in most European countries, in the United States, China, Japan and Egypt. She has collaborated with with the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra in London, Opera in Hamburg and Stuttgart, Kammerorchester Heilbronn and Mannheim, chamber orchestras AUKSO and NFM Leopoldinum.

In 2006–2009 she was a bassoonist and contrabassoonist at the Grand Theater of the National Opera in Warsaw; in 2009–2011 she was a solo bassoonist of the Polish Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra.
