Sebastian Perłowski graduated with honors from the Departments of Opera and Symphonic Conducting in the class of Professor Jan Wincenty Hawel and Composition in the the Jazz Institute of the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice. He polished up his skills at the Jarvie Academy and under the tutelage of Jorma Panula, Jin Wang, Adrian Gnam and Yuri Simonov.

He was a semi-finalist at the "International Conducting Competition Lovro von Matačić" in Zagreb (Croatia) too. Sebastian Perłowski was also nominated by music critics, journalists and the public for the awards "Best Conductor of the Krakow Opera last five years" and for one of the most prestigious – Nestle Salzburg Festival Conducting Award. In 2017 he was credited with the title of the Personality of the Year 2017 in Krakow in the Culture category as well as the Personality of the Małopolska Region in the same category.
He has worked with many orchestras in Poland and on the world such Sinfonia Varsovia, HK Philharmonic, NOSPR, Metropolitana de Lisboa, Sevilla Symphony
Orchestra, The Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra or The George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra Bucharest and with world renowned soloists such: Julius Berger, Jose
Cura, Ildebrando D’Arcangelo among others.
He has recorded for labels such ECM, Warner Classic, DUX or Kameny. In 2016 he held the position of vice artistic director at Poznań Opera House. At the moment, he is working as an artistic director of Kameny Agency and lecturing composition in the Jazz Institute of the Karol Szymanowski Music Academy in Katowice. He also gives regular classic, jazz and musical concerts in the country and abroad.

Lene Aadalen Skomedal
Domenico Catalano
born in 1988 in Zug, Switzerland, completed his music studies at the Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts with Prof. Markus Wüest in 2014, graduating with distinction. For over a decade, he has been shaping the musical landscape as a bass trombonist, initially with the Tonhalle Orchestra Zurich, from 2014 on with Basel Symphony Orchestra and since 2022 as the principal bass trombonist with the renowned Gewandhausorchester in Leipzig. His ability to establish the bass trombone as an innovative and expressive instrument has earned him performances with orchestras such as the Swiss Youth Symphony Orchestra and the Sinfonia Baden, Basel Symphony Orchestra as well as appearances on international stages, including the Puplinge Classique Festival and at the University of Redlands in California. He also impressed at the International Trombone Festival 2018 at the University of Iowa with “SlideSticks Trio” which he founded and currated for several years.
Catalano’s artistic excellence has been recognized with several prestigious awards, including the Friedl Wald Foundation’s sponsorship award in Basel and the Edwin Fischer Memorial Prize. His commitment to musical education is reflected in his role as a globally sought-after lecturer for master classes in crossover, orchestral playing, and chamber music.
Kris Garfitt
He is a first prize winner of the International ARD Music Competition in Munich, a Courtois Performing Artist and Solo Trombonist of the WDR Symphony Orchestra. On top of this he had competition success as the Gold Medal winner of the 2019 Royal Overseas League Music Competition in London, and first prize winner of the 2022 International Soloists Competition in Grenchen, 2019 Jeju International Music Competition, 2018 International Tenor and Bass Trombone Competition in Budapest, the 2018 International Juozas Pakalnis Competition of Wind and Percussion Instruments in Vilnius and the 2019 International IPV (International German Trombone Association) Competition in Germany. As well as winning the first prize in the ARD Competition, he also won the public prize plus numerous ‘special’ awards.
He graduated in 2015 from the Guildhall School of Music and Drama in London with a First Class Honours Degree. During his time at Guildhall he undertook regular lessons with Eric Crees, Peter Gane and Christopher Houlding and later with Fabrice Millischer of Freiburg Musikhochschule and Guilhem Kusnierek at the Hochschule for Music Saar.
From 2016 until 2020 Kris was working as a member of the German Radio Philharmonic, and since 2021 is the solo trombonist with the WDR Symphony Orchestra. Besides regular concerts with his orchestra, he is performing frequently as guest solo trombonist with many of Europe’s leading orchestras such as the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam and the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra in Munich (plus many more). He is fortunate enough to have been a member of both the European Union Youth Orchestra and Gustav Mahler Jugendorchester and travel extensively throughout the world, performing at places such as the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, the Royal Albert Hall in London, Salzburg Festspielhaus, Hamburg’s Elbphilharmonie, the Semperoper in Dresden, Berlin Philharmonie, Prague’s Rudolfinum, Teatro Alla Scala in Milan, the Seoul Arts Center, and perform in festivals such as The BBC Proms and Salzburger Festspiele.
Alongside his orchestral career, Kris also manages to navigate a busy schedule as a solo musician. He has performed as soloist with orchestras on numerous occasions, with professional ensembles such as the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra and Munich Chamber Orchestra. Over the coming seasons he looks forward to debut solo engagements with the WDR Symphony Orchestra, the German Radio Philharmonic, the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, plus many more orchestras throughout Germany, Poland, Austria, Spain, Lithuania etc. Shortly after winning his job in 2016 Kris experienced an increased interest and love of the trombone’s wonderful solo literature, leading him to start a duo with the exceptional Korean pianist, Seri Dan. Together they perform regular concerts throughout Germany and worldwide. Their debut album, ‘Kaleidoscope’ was released in February 2023.
Kris is also a keen educator and is ‘Visiting Professor of Trombone’ at the Royal College of Music as well as a teacher at the Universität der Künste (University of the Arts) in Berlin.
Sebastian Berner
Ryan Darke
Principal Trumpet of the Los Angeles Opera Orchestra, a lecturer of trumpet at the Bob Cole Conservatory at California State University Long Beach and lecturer of pedagogy at the Colburn Conservatory of Music.
Ryan has played full seasons with the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, San Diego Symphony, and the New World Symphony. He has played on short term contracts at Auckland Philharmonia, The Malaysia Philharmonic, and the Stavanger Philharmonic internationally.
Domestically, he has performed with the San Francisco Symphony and Brass Ensemble, Saint Louis Symphony, Seattle Symphony, Detroit Symphony, Indianapolis Symphony, and many others. With the Los Angeles Philharmonic, Ryan has appeared as guest principal trumpet, played in the LA Philharmonic Brass Quintet, and joined two international tours (Venezuela and Scotland).
In addition, Ryan enjoys recording work in Los Angeles, and frequently performs at Warner Brothers, Sony, Capital Records, and Fox Studios. He can be heard on many motion pictures and television shows including The Greatest Showman, Turning Red, The Mandelorian, Mulan, The Suicide Squad, The Simpsons, Star Trek: Picard, and more.
Jannicke Eide Ellingsen
is a euphonium player from Bergen, Norway. She is working in the Norwegian Army Band where she won her position in 2023.
As a soloist Jannicke has got the opportunity to perform with different bands including Krohnengen Brass Band, Eikanger-Bjørsvik, the Royal Norwegian Naval Forces´Band and Göteborg Wind Orchestra.
Jannicke is educated from the Grieg Academy in Bergen and from Hochschule Luzern in Switzerland. The teachers during her bachelor and master performance were Grethe Tonheim, Tormod Flaten and Thomas Rüedi. She finished her studies with the highest mark in 2015.
In 2006 Jannicke joined the leading brass band Eikanger-Bjørsvik, where she played for 10 years. During her time in the band they got the first prize in the Norwegian National Championship a total of 7 times.
Jannicke has participated in national and international soloist competitions. In 2008 she got the 2nd prize in the Norwegian National Competition for Wind, Brass & Percussion. In 2014 she advanced to the final of ITEC, and in 2017 she got the first prize in the Regional Competition for Wind, Brass & Percussion in Bergen.
Jannicke is an artist for Adams brass, and is regularly performing recitals and giving masterclasses around the world. She has been invited to festivals such as Congreso AETYB, Galaico Brass Festival in Spain, and LizBrass in Portugal.
Louise Anna Pollock
Christian Lampert
Prof. Christian Lampert was educated by the horn professors Francesco Raselli (Basel), Mahir Cakar (Stuttgart) and Erich Penzel (Cologne). He received various awards, among them the prizes in the International Music Competition in Markneukirchen, as well as the German National Music Competition in Bonn.
Christian Lampert was appointed as principal horn player first in the Opera Orchestra Frankfurt (1989-1996), later on he held the same position in the Frankfurt Radio Orchestra (1996-2005). He also held the position of principal horn in the Richard Wagner Festival Orchestra in Bayreuth (1996-2008).
Meanwhile, next to his soloistic career, he has a special focus on chamber music, he performs regularly ie. with German Hornsound, German Brass, HR-Brass, City Brass Stuttgart, Consortium Classicum, Avalon Woodwind Quintet.
After having successfully led two classes for horn at the Basel Academy of Music (Switzerland) as well as at the Stuttgart Academy of Music Germany) from the year 2004 to 2022, he changed from Stuttgart to Bern and is now holding professorships at the Basel Academy of Music as well as at the Academy of Arts Bern (both Switzerland).
2018 Christian Lampert was appointed as President of the International Music Competition in Markneukirchen.
Paweł Tomaszewski
Pianist, composer, arranger, music producer. Habilitated doctor, professor at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music in Katowice, dean of the Faculty of Jazz and Popular Music.
He has collaborated with artists such as: Nigel Kennedy, Eric Marienthal, Dean Brown, Michael “Patches” Stewart, Michał Urbaniak, Jarosław Śmietana, Anna Maria Jopek, Edyta Górniak, Urszula Dudziak, Kuba Badach, Mieczysław Szcześniak, Grażyna Auguścik, Adam Bałdych and many others. He is one of the arrangers of the album “Czułe Struny” by Natalia Kukulska, which won a platinum record in 2021. He has recorded over 40 studio albums as a session musician.
In May 2023, his album entitled “Coincidence” was released, recorded with the Szczecin Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra as a result of the artist’s cooperation with the Philharmonic as a resident artist. The soloists performing on the recording included Mark Lettieri, Bernard Maseli, Wojciech Myrczek, Jerzy Małek, Marek Podkowa, Andrzej Święs and Marcin Jahr.

He is the winner of the Grand Prix and individual awards of all the most important jazz competitions in Poland (including Bielska Zadymka Jazzowa, Jazz Juniors, Jazz Nad Odrą). He has performed on stages all over the world with Polish and international stars of broadly understood jazz and entertainment music. Awarded the Golden Laurel of Skills and Competence in the “Culture” field in 2015. Resident artist of the Philharmonic. Mieczysław Karłowicz in Szczecin in the artistic season 2021/2022.
His piano playing and work are characterized by combining different styles and musical traditions. He has participated in numerous television, film and radio recordings as a conductor, music director, arranger and pianist (including 1920. Wdzięczni Bohaterom, Festival of Polish Song in Opole, Solidarity Of Arts in Gdańsk, Festival Pamięci Andrzeja Zaucha “Serca Bicie” in Bydgoszcz, Silesian Jazz Festival).
He is the founder of the first electronic keyboard instrument class in Poland at the Academy of Music in Katowice.
He has lectured at the International Jazz Workshops in Puławy, Chodzież, Szczecin, Nysa, Hobart, Brisbane, Saint Petersburg and Arkhangelsk.
