Tomasz Hajda

First trombone player of the National Polish Radio Symphony Orchestra in Katowice.

One of the leading Polish trombone players, winner of many awards at international solo and chamber music competitions, e.g. in Warsaw, Katowice, Dąbrowa Górnicza and Gdańsk. He performed as a soloist with many orchestras in Poland, made archival recordings with the NOSPR orchestra of K. Serocki’s Sonatina, K. Sikorski’s Concerto for Trombone and Orchestra and Wilhelm Frieman’s Concerto for Trombone.

He is an active chamber musician, performing simultaneously with the Sinfonia Varsovia Brass and the Polish Brass Quintet. Since 2008, he has been a lecturer of trombone and chamber music at the Academy of Music in Wrocław.

Eric Miyashiro

Eric Miyashiro was born to American father and Japanese mother in Honolulu, Hawaii.

His father was a professional trumpet player with the world-famous Royal Hawaiian Band; his mother, a professional dancer/actress from Tokyo Japan. Eric was highly influenced by his father. rom early childhood took interest in playing all styles of music.

Eric began to study music in early grade school and achieved a level of mastery by 8th grade sufficient for his father to give him a set of trumpets (Eb, D, and a Bb Piccolo trumpet). It gave him an early start with baroque-type high register classical trumpet parts. After attending Berklee College of Music, he has traveled around the world as the lead trumpeter for Buddy Rich, Woody Herman, Stevie Wonder, Tower of Power and played with many jazz,pops, and classical artists.

Today Eric Miyashiro is an Internationally acclaimed first call trumpet player living in Tokyo. Eric is well known as a powerhouse lead player but he is also a first call classical symphonic musician. He leads his own big bands, EM band and the Blue Note Tokyo All Star Jazz Orchestra. Eric is also teaches at 4 music conservatories, and is in high demand as a composer/ arranger.He is a Yamaha Performing Artist, clinician and he helped design the Yamaha YTR-8340EM Miyashiro model trumpet. And he also plays GR mouthpieces, also his own personal models.Eric continues to travel extensively around the world as soloist / clinician.

Sarah Slater

Australian trumpeter Sarah Slater is Professor for Trumpet, Brass Chamber music and Pedagogy at the Institut für Music, Hochschule Osnabrück.

Her current research and performance project “hear her” brings attention to works for trumpet and brass by female composers of the past and present.  

From 2012-2019 Sarah worked alongside Reinhold Friedrich at the Hochschule für Musik in Karlsruhe as his assistant teacher as well as teaching at the Hochschule für Musik in Trossingen in 2016 and 2017. Sarah has been a member of the international brass ensemble WorldBrass since 2012 as well as performing with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Deutschekammerphilharmonie Bremen, Lucerne Festival Brass, NDR Radiophiharmonie Hannover and the Radio Symphony Orchestera Berlin. 2005-2007 she was Academist and then on contract at the Nationaltheater Mannheim and 2009 Essener Philharmoniker.

Sarah studied modern trumpet with Reinhold Friedrich, Laura Vukobratovic and Klaus Bräker as well as Natural Trumpet with Edward H Tarr.

Sarah has 2 daughters Lulama and Adesuwa.

Øystein Baadsvik

Øystein Baadsvik is voted one of the top ten brass players in history by the listeners on Classic FM. He did the first TED talk on the topic tuba and is one of the most popular classical musicians on YouTube with more than six million views. His multi-faceted musical career as a soloist and recording artist has taken him all over the world. He regularly gives masterclasses and clinics at major universities worldwide.
His engagements include performances with orchestras such as the Oslo Philharmonic Orchestra, Warsaw Philharmonic Orchestra, the Taipei National Symphony Orchestra and Singapore Philharmonic. Baadsvik has performed in some of the most famous venues in the world and 2006 made his New York recital debut at Carnegie Hall.
Baadsvik is an active recording artist whose CDs receive unstinting praise. In their review of “Tuba Works”, American Record Guide said, “This spectacular recording establishes Baadsvik as one of the best solo tubists in the world.” Film composer John Williams said about Baadsvik’s recording of his tuba concerto: «His rendering of my concerto far surpasses anything a composer might hope for»

 

Maciej Baranowski

Born in 1989 in Zielona Góra, he began learning to play the French horn under Ivan Moroz in Poland, and continued his studies with Prof. Christian-Friedrich Dallmann at the Academy of Arts in Berlin (Universität der Künste Berlin).

He has won numerous awards at international competitions, including those in Markneukirchen, Prague Spring in Prague, Sannicandro di Bari, Łódź, and Gdańsk. He has been a recipient of scholarships from the Ministry of Culture of Poland, the “Young Poland” program, the President of Zielona Góra, the Marshal of Lubuskie Voivodeship, the Jütting Foundation, the Paul Hindemith Society, and the Ad Infinitum Foundation.

He was a member of the famous Karajan Orchestra Academy at the Berlin Philharmonic. He collaborates with ensembles such as the Berlin Philharmonic, Gewandhaus Orchestra Leipzig, NDR Elbphilharmonie Orchestra, WDR Symphony Orchestra, Staatskapelle Berlin, Staatskapelle Dresden, Staatsoper Hamburg, Konzerthaus Orchestra Berlin, Oslo Philharmonic, Bergen Philharmonic, Mahler Chamber Orchestra, Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra, Sinfonietta Cracovia, Sinfonia Varsovia, SHMF Orchestra, Bachakademie Stuttgart, and Verbier Festival Orchestra.

He currently serves as the third horn player in the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra (hr-Sinfonieorchester) and is an assistant to Prof. Christian-Friedrich Dallmann in the horn class at the University of the Arts in Berlin.

Gabriel Czopka

Principal French horn at the National Philharmonic in Warsaw.

He graduated from the Academy of Music in Wrocław. Winner of awards at competitions in Łódź and Katowice. Finalist of the artEZ Brass Competition in Enschede. He honed his skills under the guidance of Dale Clavenger, William VerMeulen and William Caballero. He collaborates with Sinfonia Varsovia, the Polish Sinfonia Iuventus Orchestra and the AUKSO Chamber Orchestra. In the 2015/2016 season he was on a one-year contract with the Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra in the United States.

Michał Szczerba

First horn player of the Baltic Philharmonic in Gdańsk, where he also graduated from the Academy of Music.

He attended masterclasses with Froydis Ree Wekre, Radovan Vlatkovic, Wolfgang Gaag and Thomas Jobstl, among others. He collaborates with the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra, Polish Chamber Philharmonic, Polish Orchestra Sinfonia Iuventus. He has also performed with the Finnish Ostrobothian Chamber Orchestra. He is a lecturer at the Academy of Music in Gdańsk.

Wioletta Fluda-Tkaczyk

Pianist, graduate of the Academy of Music in Krakow, which she graduated with honors. She cooperates mainly with wind instruments.

Wioletta participated in many significant auditions, festivals and competitions, where she received diplomas for outstanding/best accompaniment. She started working as a pianist in 2012 at the Wrocław Opera. In the years 2013-2019 she worked at the Krakow Opera as a choir tutor. Since 2014, she has been working at the Academy of Music in Krakow as an accompanist, and since February 2019 she has been employed at Capella Cracoviensis as a chamber musician. In 2015 she worked as a tutor at the Universität der Künste in Berlin in the trombone class.

Natalia Domańska

Concert pianist and lecturer at the Karol Szymanowski Academy of Music Ignacy Jan Paderewski in Poznań.

She completed BA and MA piano studies in 2013 at the Academy of Music in Poznań, and also completed postgraduate studies in “Management in culture” at the University of Social Sciences and Humanities in Poznań. Since 2012, she has been working as an accompanist at the Academy of Music in Poznań. Her repertoire, constantly expanding, currently includes over 100 works for brass instruments. As a soloist, she performed with the Opole Philharmonic, the Poznań Philharmonic and the Poznań Representative Air Force Orchestra. As a pianist, she participates in many international competitions, festivals and master classes in Poland and Germany, in cooperation with outstanding and respected musicians.

In her free time she gives piano lessons, travels, takes photos, bakes and walks her dog.

Jacek Obstarczyk

He was born in 1988 in a musical family in Oświęcim. He studied in the Academy of Music in Katowice and at the Universität für Musik und darstellende Kunst Vienna.

He is a very versatile performer, drawing inspiration from many musical genres, e.g. from classical, jazz and gospel. He is a member and co-founder of The Threex, one of the leading chamber ensembles of the entertainment and comedy scene. The ensemble won first prize at a prestigious music competition in Japan – the Osaka Chamber Music Competition and has performed all over the world.
